DIY Glitter Shoes

Nothing shouts glamour like a pair of shimmery, glitttery shoes does!  Here's the how-to:

I bought the flats from Rubi, 2 pairs for $25 (cheap ♥). Or you can pretty much use your old shoes, just make sure that the surface is smooth. You'll also need mod podge and some glitter.

Mix the glitter and mod podge into a little container. You may want to choose one that comes with a lid. Keep stirring the mixture until you get something like this:

I used lots and lots of glitter, so the mixture was pretty thick. If you prefer it more runny with less glitter, try using more mod podge than glitter. Just be careful that when you apply the paste it might get messy.

I used a sponge to apply the mixture all over the shoes. A small brush or roller would also do the trick. Make sure to cover the entire shoe evenly. In 2-3 hours, the glue should have settled.

Remember just now I mentioned it's better to use a container with a lid? That's because you can save any remaining mixture for filling out "holes" or to smoothen out any uneveness at this stage. I used a small brush for this purpose. And when you're finally satisfied, leave to air dry for 24 hours.

And I woke up to this the next day... Hello there pretty!

You can add some finishing touches like a bow or diamonte at the front. I used some leftover ribbons to line the edges, otherwise it can get a little rough on the skin. So there you go... glitter shoes ta-da!
